This is an incised bowl by Ergil Vallo, also known as, “Dalawepi”. The bowl is coil built, stone polished, and traditionally fired black. It has a round shape and etched with Zuni Fire Gods, Longhair Mana, Eototo, and Hemis Mana Katsinas. The rim is etched with stars and the bottom has heartline bears. It is a very complex piece on each side! The background area is a “rainbow” of colors, for which he was known. The bowl is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Dalawepi”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
