Lawrence Namoki was known for the variety of styles of his pottery. While he began with deeply carved pottery, he ended his career by creating delicately painted vessels. This is fully painted and polished black. The neck is polished tan and there is a deeply carved section slipped red. The black polished part has two figures in the sky surrounded by stars and the moon. There is a mesa landscape near the base. The jar is signed on the bottom, “Lawrence Namoki”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
